Why Aren't There Other Books in the Bible?

and he ordered that the people of Judah be taught this lament of the bow (it is written in the Book of Jashar

The phrase "it is written in the book of" indicates other books, and there are several other places where other books are mentioned. Why aren’t these other books in the Bible too?

The Bible is made up of 66 books, and were chosen by none  other than God Himself to be included in the Scriptures. These 66 were chosen out of hundreds or maybe even thousands of books because these 66 contain all that we need to know about God and His plan for us.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

This verse tells us WHY they were chosen. In our Bible we find our DOCTRINES, the things that should make up our core beliefs as Christians. We also find things that steer us away from death (REPROOF & CORRECTION), and things that lead us to right doing (RIGHTEOUSNESS) and the understanding that of ourselves we can’t do anything good. It’s because of the Scriptures that we have knowledge of Gods love, we have knowledge of Jesus being our Creator and our Redeemer. And it’s in this Book of books that we have knowledge of His forgiveness and of His desire that we have life that never ends.

Just because these other books have not been included in our Bible doesn’t mean that they are bad. It just means that what we need to know for our salvation is already in one of the 66 books that are included. There is lots of good reading outside of the Bible, lots that point the reader right back to God’s Holy Word.

The statement has been made by one of those writers that if we studied our Bibles like we should then none of what she wrote would be needed. Unfortunately most of us don’t take the time to dig deeply like this author has done.

I am sure that u have heard of the Bible itself as being much like a puzzle. Yesterday my wife and I were talking about this, and it was suggested that the puzzle we have been given has lots of extra pieces from other similar puzzles put into the same box. It’s our job to sort out and use only what completes the picture, but what do u do if u don’t even have a picture to go by?  U start by putting together what u have been given. U may have sections of several puzzles assembled before u realize that some of those just don’t belong.

Eventually u can maybe put the original puzzle all together, but that’ll sure take a lot longer than if u have a picture or better yet, have someone who knows what the picture looks like because they have put it together themselves already.

If u had key colors and key shapes that u KNEW belonged to the original puzzle then that would be the place to start, right?  In my studies I have come across KEYS that I am building on., and I have shared a few of these keys on a BTL webpage. (https://www.bibletimelines.com/articles/why-are-there-so-many-churches)   On this page I have suggested 3 topics to investigate first because once those 3 truths have been found u can eliminate lots and lots of “false truths”.

Please understand that I am NOT saying that I have all of the picture put together. U know that this wouldn’t be true, but both u and I already know part of that true picture. The rest will be shown us as we continue to study what God has given us in His Word.  Let’s keep praying and studying together. Don’t let the enemy of God sidetrack us with the false-truths in front of us.
