Dirty Laundry

Yesterday my 4 year old granddaughter “washed” her clothes!  She took them off, hid them in the closet and sprayed perfume on them!  After we all stopped laughing I said to my wife, “There’s got to be a spiritual lesson in that.”

How often do we try and hide our own “dirty laundry”?  We try to make our sins invisible to everyone (hide them in the closet) and even try and rationalize (spray perfume on) our sins so they “look better” and “smell better”.

We have been given the option of giving our sin covered lives to Jesus.  Why don’t we allow Him to take those sins totally out of our lives and bury them in the depths of the sea, and then allow Him to cover us with His clean robe of righteousness?  We would be exchanging our dirty clothes for brand new clothes. Why do we hang on to all that dirty laundry?

Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”
